When it comes to typical argentine cuisine, empanadas and locro are amongst the most well received and sought-after dishes. Norma, a Buenos Aires based psychotherapist with a long track record of argentine cuisine classes offered mostly to international travelers, opens her delightfully decorated kitchen for you to enjoy the amazing view of the Belgrano neighborhood from the balcony while she guides you through the steps of making homemade empanadas, locro and alfajores.
The three-hour long experience includes all the ingredients carefully selected by Norma, that will be waiting perfectly displayed for you to get hands-on the chopping, slicing and mixing, while Norma shares with you all her knowledge about the argentine culture and food.
While you prepare the dishes you will be able to try the famous red wine malbec or white whine torrontes, and once the food is ready everyone gets seated in her dining room to enjoy the meal and keep on with the chat, while more wine is poured.
Along with the dessert you will taste and learn all the secrets of the national beverage of Argetina: the delicious mate
Menu can be vegetarian on request
“I love teaching and transmitting my experience, allowing the students the freedom and creativity to innovate and prepare their own version of the dishes we prepare.
I´m a psychoterapist and find that cooking is therapeutic as it gives us the posibility to use our creativity, and be connected to the roots of the culture….
My daughter and I took the cooking class with Norma and loved it. Norma was very knowledgable, organized, and fun. The class was certainly a highlight of our Buenos Aires trip and it was wonderful to hear about local customs and traditions, as well as, to meet other travelers. The food was delicious, easy to prepare, and we have already used the recipes on another portion of our trip. I can’t wait to try them again when we get home. I highly recommend this class.
