Lara M.

Master’s degree in Literature

Buenos Aires , Argentina.

About Lara:

I like to write, to read and to talk. I talk a lot! My brother used to say to me why dont you have a radio program? Fortunately, we don’t live together anymore. I am in my thirties, by which it is not guaranteed that you will have left home: in Buenos Aires people can live with their parents until they are 35 years old!

The main thing you have to know about me is that I love Buenos Aires, even with the inequality, the traffic, the floods and the trash among the millions of inhabitants. There is something that makes me love this city, especially some of its corners, cafes, squares, theaters, words, bus tours. I like to feel like a tourist in my own city, I like to travel without moving, and of course, travel in the traditional way.

So, as I love Buenos Aires I decided to create literary walks, in the city where I was born. This is what I can share with you: my streets, my favorite texts by Borges, Cortázar and others. I am sure you will like this experience! At least, I would have loved to have someone to show me The Paris of Flaubert, The Santiago of Neruda or The Bahía of Jorge Amado.

Borges said: “A book is not an autonomous entity: it is a relation, an axis of innumerable relations”. I like this phrase, I think Literature is completely connected to the place where it was written, both concrete and abstract.
